Día 6 - Selva Lacandona - Zona Arqueológica Bonampak - Yaxchilán
We will depart very early in the morning with breakfast included en route to the Selva Lacandona. First we will arrive at Bonampak, to know this enigmatic archaeological zone, We will be received by native Lacandones located in the community of Lacanjá They taking us in their vehicles towards that zone. Bonampak is very important for the murals discovered in its temples and that are still in sight of the visitor. The most striking part is the Temple of the Murals, where three painted chambers are found. The murals of the first chamber allude to the presentation of the heir to the throne of the city, the second chamber presents pictures of a battle and the third describes the festivities for the victory, with dancers, nobles and musicians. At the end we will leave to enter the mystery of Yaxchilán archaeological zone. Majestic for its location, its history and its architecture, this Mayan city was one of the most important of the classic period. It is located on a peninsula flanked by wide meanders of the Usumacinta River, so that it is completely surrounded by water. As it has tried to preserve the forest in the middle of its urban layout, its atmosphere is mysterious like that of any other Mayan archaeological site.
